School Activities and Extra Curricular

Extracurricular activities

Between school and downtime, our kids, at least once a week engage in one or more extracurricular activities. These programs allow children and teens to pursue a special interest that’s outside of the typical educational curriculum, including sports, the arts, technologies, critical thinking and public speaking skills.

Sports

Sports are the most common extracurricular activity for kids at Almes. Swimming classes, basketball, tennis and soccer clinics are typically offered to children as early as the toddler and preschool years. Sports give them opportunity to exercise, make new friends, learn to go along with others and more important they enjoy their school life at Almes.

Performing Arts

Theatre and dances are popular extracurricular activities at Almes. We believe that kids’ talents have to be nurtured and helped to grow from the very early age. Some kids who excel in performing arts may grow up to be professional actors, comedians or other performers. Many are also expected to develop self-confidence, friendship and go on to being super community members.

Visual Arts

Children who are interested in drawing, paint or create do benefit our art program which give them opportunity to learn technique’s and see their creativity flourish. We strongly advise parents to allow their kids to develop both, their academic and talent potentials

Music.

We have music classes run by professional teachers taking our kids through professional music learning from basics through to.

Community Service

We organise outdoor community service whereby our kids reach out and pay humanitarian visits to different social groups or organisations. Out there our kids or teens do the following;

  • Organise donations
  • Support fundraising
  • Give helping hands to disadvantaged kids
  • Organise indoor functions and invite other kids from outside to participate
  • Volunteering

This helps our kids and teens to develop and gain leadership skills and make important personal connections

Academic Clubs

We have and give opportunity to join clubs where our pupils come together, research, discover and share the findings about topical questions that they have covered in their classes. Some clubs expose our pupils to such global issues like environmental issues, international relations and model United Nations. Clubs available includes

  • Math Clubs
  • Debate and Public Speaking
  • Model United Nations
  • Science Club
  • Arts Club
